A Better Way To Connect: Sustainable Meeting Practices

The Park Lane Hotel and a green environment go hand in hand. This is underlined by the hotel's environmental mission statement and by its meeting facilities, which are now all sustainable as a standard.  The below provides an overview of all sustainable efforts for meetings at The Park Lane Hotel. If desired, meeting bookers can choose to opt out of any of the sustainable components.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Nordaqfresh

Nordaq Fresh Water Filtration System

The new Nordaq Fresh Water Filtration System produces water with all necessary salts and minerals, but free from added chemicals and flavours. Reusable bottles are filled and sealed in our hotel. This significantly reduces our carbon footprint, as water is by far the largest beverage by volume served in the hotel.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Condiments

Less Waste From Condiments

Individual condiment packets create both packaging and food waste and are for the most part not recyclable. In banqueting, we therefore serve condiments such as sugar or sauces in bowls rather than individually packed.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Clutter Free

A Clutter Free Meeting Space

We remove the clutter from meeting setups by organizing supplies such as note pads, pens and mints at supply stations. The advantage of these set-ups is two folds: meeting participants get more space for their own things, whilst we are minimising waste and environmental risks associated with landfills.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Paper Green Park

Recycling and Recycled Paper

All meeting rooms in Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel feature separate trash bins for recyclable items. The hotel arranges the recycling of paper, corrugated cardboard, glass, plastics and metal. Provided flipchart paper is made from recycled materials.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Linnenless

Conserving Water With Linenless Tables

It is important to look for opportunities to conserve water. Buffets for under 50 guests are set on linen less tables. Eliminating the use of linen on our meeting tables allows to reduce water and energy consumption.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel Sustanable Meeting Practices Make A Green Choice

Make A Green Choice

Does your meeting at The Park Lane Hotel include accommodation? Then you can reward yourself with a £5 beverage and food voucher or with 500 SPG Starpoints® for each night you decline housekeeping services (except day of departure). The less water, energy and other resources we use, the more there is to go around. Conservation matters. Make A Green Choice.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel Sustanable Meeting Practices Check Out For Children Unicef

Check Out For Children

Check Out for Children is a long-standing alliance between UNICEF and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. As part of this initiative, The Park Lange Hotel invites meeting bookers to add £1 per meeting participant to their total bill of the event as a voluntary donation to UNICEF. All collected funds will support educational programmes of UNICEF, aimed at giving every child free primary education and making schools a safe and healthy place for all. Your donation will help to build and improve schools, train teachers, provide essential school supplies, and help children return to school after emergencies.

Sheraton The Park Lane Hotel London Sustainable Meeting Practices Meeting Impact Report

Meeting Impact Report

Upon request, The Park Lane Hotel provides meeting planners with a Meeting Impact Report, describing your meeting's energy and water consumption, waste management and socially responsible programs. As a member of the International Tourism Partnership, The Park Lane Hotel has also integrated the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative methodology, wich offers you the option to offset your meeting’s carbon footprint by donating to a sustainability project of your choice.
